TolumiDE (pronounced toe-lu-mee-day), Singer-Songwriter born in Canada and raised in Nigeria, is an International Award Winning R&B/Soul Afro-Pop World Fusion Inspirational Recording Artist. TolumiDE always had a passion for the arts and music; she graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts (Honors) from York University, Toronto, Canada and previously honed her musical skills as a member of the cultural dance group and choir at her high school - Atlantic Hall Secondary School in Lagos, Nigeria. While in Canada, she was part of a Dancehall/Reggae/RnB/HipHop all female band ‘Women Ah run Tings’, a 4 time Canadian Reggae Award nominee. TolumiDE is a name in her Yoruba native language which means ‘Thank You God, it is a collaboration of her first name ‘Tolulope’ and last name ‘Olumide’. TolumiDE showcases deep inflections of her African heritage which is translated through her soulful, gospel and poetic lyrics.
TolumiDE's songs are mainly English lyrics, with the occasional interjection of African Languages such as Yoruba, Pidgin English, Igbo and Twi - a World Fusion Neo-Soul sound blending R&B, Afro-Pop Gospel, Reggae & Jazz reminiscent of India Arie, Les Nubians and Angélique Kidjo stylings.
